Bad Apostle Yes, the strip is late again today. No, I'm not going to apologize. No, I'm not going to say anything more about it. Do you know what the word 'apostle' really means? It doesn't mean one of those guys that followed Jesus around. Those were Disciples (please note the capitalized 'D'). All it means is 'missionary'. A related word is 'epistle', which means 'letter', as in a piece of paper that you write on and send to someone, also called a 'missive'. So, technically, Jim Jones and Creflo Dollar were/are both apostles. Now, to contrast these concepts, David Hasselhoff is neither an apostle, nor is he a Disciple (or even a lower-cased disciple).
